In the Raw Material of Music Method we'll build a working knowledge of the 7 string fretboard from the ground up starting with the standard BEADGBE tuning and develop a Triad System from those notes throughout the entire fretboard. The purpose is to offer you basic skills that will either be prep for, or be a companion to The 7 String Main Course where we'll integrate theory into music. As a stand alone, you'll be equipped to take these ideas and develop your own music intuitively.

The Raw Material of Music - Lesson 7 We're now going to form single string major triads (chord tones) from the 7 open strings. The root is the open string, the major 3rd is a four fret jump and the 5th is a three fret jump from the major 3rd. 77.9 KB
The Raw Material of Music - Lesson 8 Now we're going to tag the root drill on to the end of each triad. Once you have this under your fingers, try playing along with the video. 94.4 KB

The Raw Material of Music - Lesson 11 The Minor Triad consists of the Root, Minor or Flatted Third and Fifth. Enjoy this first of 3 Minor drills. 98.3 KB
